We are getting ready for yet another wonderful gelato season. What about you?Massimo Bertonasco is an ex businessman turned gelato maker for the love of quality food.
He opened his first gelato shop in Amsterdam less than a year ago, yet his cosy, passion-powered ijsfabriek in the Pijp has already established its well-deserved reputation as one of the hotspots for genuine, delicious and downright excellent Italian gelato in town.
The shop won’t reopen for the new season before March.
In the meantime, how can you resist the temptation to join us on an exclusive preview of the most surprising and flavourful artisanal gelato in Amsterdam?
On February 10th [SOLD OUT], Massimo will open the doors to his laboratory for a one-time gelato class.
[UPDATE: the event on February 10 is sold out. Due to high demand, we are exceptionally replicating it on Saturday, February 24th at 3 PM].
During this special event organized and co-hosted by As Soup As Possible you will:
• learn more about Italian gelato, its origins and artisanal tradition
• make gelato from the finest natural ingredients – no pre-made bases, no artificial aromas nor colourings – including vegan and special gourmet flavours
• discover the research that’s behind each of Massimo’s gelato flavours
• meet likeminded gelato enthusiasts and share your love for this heavenly product
• taste the outcome of your own work as a gelataio and take home 2 litres of fresh gelato.
Each gelato maker for a day will be awarded a certificate of participation.
What to bring
Aprons and all materials are provided, so just bring your passion, curiosity, and eagerness to make and eat some pretty gorgeous gelato!
Due to limited capacity, this event requires reservation and prepayment after RSVP.
Once we receive your payment, we will send you a confirmation email.
The participation fee includes hot drinks (Massimo makes great coffee too), aprons, cooking class, materials, tastings, a certificate of participation, and 2 litres of excellent artisanal gelato… made by you!
This event qualifies for As Soup As Possible membership programme. If you have a membership card, please remember to bring it along and collect your point. If you don’t have one, you will be able to get one for free at the event and start collecting points to get our rewards.
